The ESG (Environment Social Governance) Data Steward-Charlotte, NC is responsible for developing and implementing the overall data governance approach and process for ESG-related data and disclosures. The ESG Data Steward will enable data analytics and governance to enrich and harness customer, finance, HR, product master, and sustainability data to enable rigorous, repeatable reporting of ESG data and KPIs as ESG requirements continue to expand. This role will report directly to the VP, Deputy Corporate Secretary and General Counsel, ESG and will work closely with the ESG Program team, Health, Safety and Environmental and Product Stewardship (HSEPS) team, IT, Finance and businesses across the global enterprise.

Candidates are expected to be well-versed in business processes and data domains and be willing to go into a deep level of detail, while still maintaining a big-picture view to ensure alignment of people, processes and technology with the changing ESG landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the current state of master data and sources
  • Quickly creates simple dashboard, powerBI and workflow
  • Partner with IT function to develop ideal future state ESG data architecture
  • Develop and execute roadmap to achieve ESG data architecture, including implementation of ESG disclosure technology tool
  • Create ESG digital dashboard to track performance against ESG targets
  • Work with SBG/Functional leadership to identify data domains, owners, and stewards to facilitate the governance process
  • Define and establish data quality rules, definitions, and strategy consistent with organizational strategies and goals
  • Develop and communicate standard policies and procedures for ESG data management
  • Oversee the integrity, usability, and security of all relevant data assets under purview

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of financial or data experience within the industry
  • 3+ years working within a Data Office or data related programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with Finance, Operations, IT and multiple business functions existing across a large enterprise
  • Experience with PowerBI, power apps
  • Demonstrated aptitude in data governance activities and best practices
  • Familiarity with Environmental, Social and Governance concepts
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and across all audiences; synthesizing complex issues and analysis to support decision making
  • Familiarity with data quality methods, storage repositories and tools across a wide landscape
  • Ability to quickly absorb data needs and definitions
  • Able to work effectively across a globally distributed set of stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills
