ING is looking for a Sustainable Investment Specialist - Help build the expertise of the ING Investment Office and further establish ING as the authority on sustainable investing
Your work environment
The ING Investment Office (IIO) develops and formulates ING's central vision and investment policy, forms opinions and manages investment portfolios based on a combination of fundamental financial vision and sustainability analysis. The Investment Office, with about 50 employees, has offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Luxembourg. Half of the team work from INGâs headquarters in Amsterdam, this will also be your duty station. Since 2008, IIO has established a solid position as a center of expertise within the market for (high net worth) private investors. What will you do?
As an ESG analyst you are jointly responsible for ING's sustainable investment policy. With 3 fellow ESG analysts you will make sustainable analyses of equities, bonds and investment funds and contribute to our voting and engagement activities, for example by engaging with companies on sustainability issues. In addition, you work on the development of our own sustainability score and work on the development of new methodologies such as the analysis of government bonds or green bonds. You take initiative on policy changes and on changes in sustainable insights and implement them in the SRI policy. You continuously find and create ways to improve our business and are the point of contact within the bank to take sustainability further. You see every challenge as an opportunity and contribute to ING's sustainable vision regarding investing, both internally and externally.
What do we expect from you?
You have solid knowledge and experience in both investment and sustainability or can demonstrate a strong affinity with these fields. You are eager to learn and dive into the investment process, what important sustainable developments are and see how these are changing and how this affects the economy and companies. You anticipate and act on this change and pick up issues independently.
As a (senior) sustainable investment analyst at the ING Investment Office (IIO), you will contribute to the strengthening of the sustainable investment policy within the IIO, but also beyond. To this end, we work together with investment advisors, other departments within ING and other organizations. The goal is to further strengthen ING as a modern, sustainable investment bank.

- You have good oral and written expression skills and can distinguish between main and minor issues in an analysis.
- You can get stakeholders on board.
- You have a university degree and demonstrable affinity or work experience in the field of sustainability and/or investment.
- You have good knowledge of Excel.
- You are strong in the use of the Dutch and English language.
