Education Requirements

  • Advanced degree with a strong focus on Finance, Economics, or business:
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy Finance
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Energy Finance
  • Master of Finance (MFin) with a focus on Sustainable Finance
  • Master of Economics with a concentration in Renewable Energy Investment
  • Master of Energy Finance and Markets
  • Master of Sustainable Development with a specialization in Finance for Renewable Energy

Experience Requirements

  • 2-5 years of work experience in investment funding
  • Proven track record in project financing for renewable energy, with a specific emphasis on solar projects in Europe
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong network of financing partners and investors within the renewable energy sector
  • Experience in navigating complex financial structures and securing funding for large-scale solar projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic financing plans for solar projects in Europe to support the company's financial objectives and project goals
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and funding partners to ensure access to diverse sources of funding
  • Lead negotiations and communications with international and local banks to evaluate and secure favorable financing opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with Country Directors and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful financial closing of solar projects
  • Oversee the entire project financing process, including consolidation, follow-up, and progress monitoring among internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively coordinate and lead project financing efforts, ensuring effective resource planning and communication throughout all project phases
  • Take charge of Facility & Security Agreement negotiations and review legal and financial frameworks to optimize project outcomes
  • Manage and coordinate the progress of project sales, working closely with Project Development leaders for evaluation of purchase opportunities
  • Lead negotiations and finalize Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with International Traders, Utilities, Communities, and Corporations

Skills

  • Strong financial modeling skills and a track record of successful financial deal structuring
  • Effective project management skills, ensuring smooth coordination, resource planning, and timely execution of financing activities
  • Advanced negotiation skills, which are essential to secure favorable financing terms and agreements
  • A deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, specifically solar project financing trends, regulatory frameworks, and government incentives in Europe, is crucial for making informed financial decisions
  • Analytical skills in evaluating the financial viability of solar projects and evaluating potential funding opportunities
  • Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in other European languages is advantageous
