Delta Air Lines, Inc.’s Financial Reporting department is primarily responsible for the preparation of Delta’s internal and external financial statements and for researching and concluding on technical accounting matters. The department regularly interacts with senior management, division finance, investor relations, legal, financial planning and analysis, treasury, refinery finance personnel and internal/external auditors.

We are seeking a Project Manager, Financial Reporting, with a focus on Environmental Sustainability reporting. The position serves in a leadership role to ensure the integrity of Delta's financial statements. The successful candidate will:

Act as the subject matter expert on the latest SEC rules, in particular as it relates to climate-related disclosures and other Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters. Monitor, assess and communicate to senior leaders implications of new standards for Delta’s financial statements and other external reports.
Work closely with cross functional teams (including but not limited to sustainability, legal and internal audit teams) to build robust and auditable disclosures around climate and other ESG-related matters and ensure such disclosures are being captured and reported in a timely manner in Delta’s financial statements and other external reports.
Engage with cross functional teams to assess and document the technical accounting considerations for new transactions and projects.
Establish strong processes to prepare and review climate and other ESG-related disclosures and ensure information is accurate, complete and in compliance with SEC and FASB standards, as applicable.
Act as a liaison between finance, sustainability and legal to establish proper controls around climate and other ESG-related disclosures. Help different functional areas to implement new business processes, data gathering, reporting and protocols.
Ensure appropriate documentation and performance of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Assist with the preparation of Delta’s Forms 10-K and 10-Q filings and other regulatory and subsidiary financial statements, as needed.
Team with Delta’s internal and external auditors to ensure an efficient and effective audit process.
Support the development of specific skills, behaviors and knowledge among team members to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in future responsibilities.
Develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and wellbeing.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

Licensed CPA
5+ years of combined experience in public accounting with a Big 4 or other top tier firm and/or corporate financial reporting in a public company
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SEC financial reporting and disclosure matters
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Detail-oriented, deadline-focused and has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

Undergraduate degree in business or accounting
Relevant professional experience in operational sustainability and/or reporting
