Role Summary
The Senior Manager, ESG Product, Strategy and Analytics (the ‘Senior Manager’) is responsible for managing ESG product-related business activities across multiple asset classes and vehicles alongside and in support of the Head of ESG Product, Strategy and Metrics/Analytics.

ESG product-related business activities include market & competitor analysis, product development and design, management of product-related governance processes, and senior executive & stakeholder collaboration. As part of this role, the Senior Manager will work with business partners and stakeholders across the firm’s investments, distributions, operations, and corporate divisions to ensure strategy and operating model alignment for investment products, vehicles, and related activities.

The ESG Enablement Team (ESGET) is a newly-formed team at the firm which works across investments, distribution and operations. As a member of this team, the incumbent will have an opportunity to work across multiple areas of the firm and build his/her expertise in a growing area of investment management.

Principal Responsibilities
This role requires prior product management experience with the ability to conduct extensive and comprehensive analysis and provide recommendations to senior management, business partners, and key stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts in-depth analyses on the industry and competitive environment, client segments and product landscape (both ESG and non-ESG). Demonstrates in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of ESG products, the marketplace, client needs, and the operational/regulatory environment. Synthesizes a broad array of business, customer, competitor, and financial information to build business cases as well as to develop and validate product plans.
  • Partners with Investments and Distribution to identify and develop the business cases for new firm offerings in the marketplace. Provides recommendations around new product ideas, product enhancements and/or other market growth opportunities.
  • Leads product development/enhancement for assigned strategies, vehicles, and/or market segments. Has advanced investment knowledge to develop products that can be expected to reliably meet client needs. Has strong market knowledge and understanding of operational and regulatory constraints to integrate the demands of various client channels and geographic regions and formulate recommendations. Ensures distribution needs, input, and/or concerns are addressed during the product development, enhancement, and planning processes
  • In partnership with Global Product, creates product management road maps and establishes evaluation criteria & success metrics. Contributes to pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies and the assessment of competitive differentiators. Positions products for specific client segments, highlighting key benefits and competitive advantages. Engages with cross functional groups to support business sales. Monitors investment research trends and analyses, including academic findings, to inform product development activities. Shares findings with peers, key stakeholders, and relevant staff.
  • Where applicable, works with various internal groups (portfolio specialist, sales, and marketing teams) to develop and execute against a strategic marketing plan to enhance delivery of optimal net new business and ensure the effectiveness of product collateral.
  • Supports the success of the ESG Enablement Team by contributing to team projects and activities that sit outside ESG Product, Strategy and Metrics on an ad hoc basis. These projects and activities are anticipated to be limited to approx. 20% of the incumbent’s time.



Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred:
  • Strong financial, technical, risk management, qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with an exceptional ability to communicate analysis and insights in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with high level internal and external contacts.
  • Results oriented approach with proven ability to work in an environment with a diverse range of activities and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute projects of medium to high complexity with guidance but minimal supervision.
  • Positive and flexible approach to work and ability to work with all levels of the organization as needed.
  • Customer service orientation and exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage effective relationships at all levels of the organization – particularly with Global Product - and work collaboratively with others in a team environment.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
