The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Coordinator who will be supporting the ESG Manager, in delivery of the group wide ESG and sustainability programme. This support covers a wide range of projects and activities to capture the necessary information and data for compliance purposes, to report progress and achieve sustainability objectives and targets.
This role will be pivotal in the coordination of standardisation across the group and ongoing sustainability improvement, with a focus around carbon foot-printing of both our business and our events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the global Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint for the organisation, reporting this data both internally and externally.
- Contribute to establishing a scope 3 GHG initiative and facilitating the transition from spend-based analysis to activity-based emissions from Clarion’s business areas.
- Support the ESG Manager and Operations Director in establishing a process and methodology for collecting event-level activity data to calculate event-level carbon footprints.
- Support implementation of carbon reduction initiatives.
- Support the NZCE (Net Zero Carbon Events) initiative and the various associated working groups.
- Support coordination of the Better Stands initiative.
- Responsible for ESG KPI data management.
- Supporting regional teams (EMEA, US and Asia) to drive regional sustainability action plans forward.
- Coordinating the collection, management, reliability, and integrity of data from multiple business units and geographies (e.g., operations, facilities, HR, finance, sales, etc. across EMEA, US and Asia).
- Monitoring and reporting the progress of sustainability initiatives of both internal and external stakeholders, including the coordination of data collection and analysis for the drafting of ESG reports.
- Supporting the execution and reporting of compliance audits/visits in-house and across our supply chain, maintaining an action tracker for delivery of time bound obligations (Legislation, ESOS, SECR, etc.)
- Assisting our ESG Manager in driving our ESG Framework and achieving our sustainability targets.
- Assist the ESG Manager in the management of the Global ESG Committee steering group and regional sustainability topic champions.
- Organise sustainability meetings and working groups - driving the implementation of the regional ESG action plans.
- Supporting the ESG Manager in the development and implementation of training, workshops, and any other engagement tools for internal and external stakeholders, including the development and maintenance of a sustainability “portal.”
- Maintain strong links with the Corporate Communications Manager to promote sustainability across the business, assisting with regular updates on environmental and sustainability awareness (for the sustainability portal, website and other social media as required).
- Represent Clarion Events at industry working groups such as the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative.
- Monitoring the industry for best practices and new innovative technologies and designs (stand materials, energy efficiency, transport consolidation).
- Other duties as agreed by the Global ESG Committee commensurate with the level of the post.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:
- Previous experience in a similar role managing projects is desirable.
- Experience in compiling reports and presenting data.
- Experience of ESG reporting is desirable (e.g., TCFD, GRI, CDP, ISSB).
- Degree in a sustainability-related subject or demonstrable sustainability coverage in a broader subject is advantageous.
- Membership of a relevant environmental body is desirable.
- Passionate about sustainability and working with data.
- Strong analytical and IT skills: experience of MS Excel (essential) and PowerBI (desirable).
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Proactive, able to multi-task and work to deadlines.
- Can work independently but is also a team player.
