We have set a bold ambition to achieve net-zero climate impact by 2030 and the Global Internal Sustainability Team are leading this effort.
The Sustainability Analyst will join BCG’s Global Internal Sustainability Team to support the implementation and operationalization of sustainability initiatives across the firm, with particular focus on data and analytical requirements of the carbon reduction program. In addition, the Sustainability Analyst will provide broader coordinating and stakeholder engagement support for the carbon program.

The Sustainability Analyst will join BCG’s Global Internal Sustainability Team to support the implementation and operationalization of sustainability initiatives across the firm, with particular focus on data and analytical requirements of the carbon reduction program. In addition, the Sustainability Analyst will provide broader coordinating and stakeholder engagement support for the carbon program.
The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for:
- Implementing systems and processes to gather, process and validate complex greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data at scale
- Leveraging Alteryx to integrate data sources and automate the processing of GHG emissions data, focussing primarily on business travel data
- Managing BCG’s suite of internal reporting dashboards using Tableau and implementing best practices in interactive dashboard design
- Administering the BCG Net Zero Tableau site, ensuring user access, content availability and data security
- Running quality assurance, testing and validation of data sources and dashboards to maintain a single source of truth in BCG global emissions reporting
- Developing excel-based tools to support stakeholders with planning and budgeting for carbon emissions
- Driving adoption of analytics tools through enablement and training with senior global stakeholders
- Identify and track emissions reduction opportunities, and to support ongoing strategy work
- Providing internal and external partners with accurate and up-to-date information
YOU'RE GOOD AT
- Creating user-friendly, interactive dashboards with high business impact using Tableau
- Processing large data sets from various sources with Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Python, or similar tools
- Finding insight from structured and unstructured data
- Gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into actionable tasks
- Creating engaging guidance materials and leading interactive trainings
- Developing and maintaining excel-based tools using macros, formulas and VBA
- Presenting complex information to a broad, less technically versed audience
- Independently managing requirements and tracking tasks, prioritizing between conflicting demands
- Strong PowerPoint and presentations skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- 5 - 7 years of experience in related field
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Excellent capabilities and certified qualifications with Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Server, Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server software
- Subject knowledge in sustainability and GHG accounting principles preferred
- Passionate about the role of business in helping to address the climate crisis
- Experience with ETL processes, databases, APIs, SQL, and experience of Snowflake preferred
- Advanced Excel skills including VBA, macros, lookups, and statistical functions
- Experience in statistical modelling and analysis
- Knowledge about information security principles and guidelines (GDPR or similar)
- Ability to learn quickly and get embedded in BCG’s organizational structure
- Consulting experience in similar environments helpful
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment, with people at all organizational levels
- Knowledge of BCG Practice Areas and/or software/data products helpful
YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will report directly to the Sustainability Program Manager. Primary team members include all members of the Internal sustainability team (Director, Sr. Manager, and Analysts). Regular engagement with delegates of MDPs over Operations, Regionals COOs and their Chiefs of Staff, and Region System Leads responsible for sustainability, regional implementation teams, and Green Teams and a variety of cohorts and functions across the company as well as external vendors.
