Job Description

U.S. Bank is looking for a new Sustainable Finance Project Manager (PM) to join our new and growing Sustainable Finance Team. The PM will report to the Managing Director of Sustainable Finance.

The enterprise Sustainable Finance Team is a new bank-wide function responsible for driving progress and accountability for the enterprise Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) commercial strategy and roadmap. The team will bring specialized expertise to support and enable U.S. Bank lines of business to capture ESG business opportunity, working alongside business leaders from around the bank to mobilize capital towards ESG commitments and meet client ESG needs.

The Sustainable Finance Team will drive successful implementation of the enterprise ESG commercial strategy, support and enable lines of business to integrate ESG into their business strategy, and have the following four areas of focus: 1) Technical expertise, consulting and advising; 2) Cross business line support; 3) Sustainable finance frameworks and taxonomies; 4) Strategy and governance:

The Sustainable Finance Project Manager is a critical role, providing coordination and administrative support to the Managing Director of Sustainable Finance. The PM will help support strategic business planning and execution as we continue to increase our sustainable finance growth year over year. This is a fast-paced, think-on-your-feet position, requiring day-to-day business management and administrative coordination, as well as key interdepartmental collaboration.

Objectives

  • Oversee the administration of sustainable finance initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of leadership and business lines sustainability heads
  • Assist the executive team members in determining and prioritizing initiates and goals based on their schedules
  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily operations through performing an array of tasks from developing and maintaining SMART internal tracking models for sustainable finance enterprise goals, preparing and disseminating internal executive materials, and creating standard operating procedures and processes
  • Work with Managing Director of Sustainable Finance to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress on key organizational metrics (SMART) aligned the bank’s sustainable finance goals and 3-year roadmap
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to head of Sustainable Finance on administrative/business management matters, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of cross-functional communications
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
  • Support head of Sustainable Finance in the management and administration of the Sustainable Finance Steering Council, including minute taking, executive presentations and agenda setting

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management activities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Experience in a an ESG/sustainability-focused role in the financial services sector
  • Proficiency with excel and data analysis
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form with a strong focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experience with budget management
  • Consulting experience with a focus on operations management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,010.00 - $130,600.00 - $143,660.00
